Dreams

Suggested to me by my friend Penny. Hope you like reading this girl :) Comment and be merry

Penelope grimanced out onto the rainy weather. The campus grounds were greyed as only a few people wondered around in this mess. She wished she had something better to do now. Her roomate Betty had left for the weekend, leaving her with the room all to herself. Not like she had any use for it, she usually met up with friends around campus but this weekend was special, the dreaded Valentines Day weekend.

Everytime around this time of the year everyone at St. Jude's college would leave campus and go onto their own little vacation with their segnificant other. It was sweet, but to those pinning away for another it was all bitter. Penelope scooted away from th window and to her laptop. Aim was up as usual, all her friends lined up in a row, all busy with their own romantic endevors. She heaved a sigh as she placed her face in her hands. All her work done for the week she cursed her ability to finish ahead of time.

Suddenly someone signed onto aim.

The status read, "Enough with this drama."

Penelope scanned the name and remembered the name. Dimitri. She melted a little at the thought of his name. He had been in her grouping for a group study the first day she came here. He was a tall Dominican guy of 20, God surly blessed this one. Nice light toned skin with dark peircing eyes, his voice melted her on the inside out. He had been her friend since, but never picked up on her longing for more. She tried being subtle, but the guy was a little preocupied. He also had a girlfriend, local queen of the campus Rhonda Hills. Penelope never knew her personally but she was many things, home reacker was not one of them. But seeing his stause she let her curiosity get the better of her.

"Hey wats up?"

Waiting a few moments she got an instant responce.

"Nuthin but the ceilin. Sittin in my room thinkin. U?"

"Same here, the weather is terrible. Thought you would have left bein Valentines day an all."

"Me and Rhonda had another fight. God Im so sick of her and her bitch fits. She swears the world revolves around her and her tantrums. Like the world is supposed to stop all cause of her."

"Im sorry to hear that. Maybe it takes time to grow out of it. College is the place for that."

Penelope tried to sound as nurturing as she could. But she had seen the famouse Rhonda explosions and they were rivalry to Hurrican Katrina. Nothing and no one would be able to stop her rampages.

"Yea, she is so use to it. Maybe here she will get over herself and see it. But how r u? No Valentines day celebration?"

"Hahahaha like any guy would be in their right mind!"

":/ You are beautiful Penelope. Any guy would be lucky to have you."

"Point me in the right direction and I will prove you wrong lol."

She knew he meant well but it was kind of obvious she wasnt the kind of girl guys looked for. They looked for the popular chick with the good smile and always laughs. The sweet ones with the body to match or the brainy one. She was average on all front in her eyes, but then again she was her worst critique.

"I know you would be perfect for a guy out there. Just not any of these, there mostly looking for one thing."

"Lol and wat does this make you???"

"....A guy with to much on his mind."

"ROFL"

He always had a knack for making her laugh, she smiled to herself.

"You are and watch one day your gonna look back and laugh at these idiots at school."

":)"

"Thats why I love you, your like a lil sister to me, and Idk wat Id do without you."

She stopped for a moment and looked at that line. Her heart skipped a beat but at the same time it fell. A sister and love what a horrible combination. Her thoughts of him fleeted in that instant. She sighed and kept the conversation going. He was her friend and thats all that mattered now. She would find someone someday, but for now it couldnt hurt to dream
